Kicking off any summer you can always expect a ton of publishers and developers wanting to get their upcoming games in front of gamers. Of course 2024 was no exception. The team at Indie.io (then Freedom Games) reached out to me with a piece of already made keyart and an question. "Is it possible to turn this piece of keyart into a full-fledged graphics package for our upcoming summer showcase on IGN?

The answer to that on my end was, "OF COURSE! LET'S DO IT!" And "do it" we did.

They already had a team putting together some supporting assets like nameslates, lower thirds, and other smaller on-screen content. So I worked with the team there to create some of the big picture elements to bring the show to life.

Being a fan of Freedom Games for a few years now, it was an incredible request to get. Once I saw the keyart and knew that was approved it was all about assembling the project in Cinema 4D and then moving it into Unreal Engine 5 to light, texture, export. This was actually the first big project that added Unreal to my workflow. Once it made sense, I'm not sure I'll ever build a big 3D project like this without using Unreal at some phase in the process.

But this is just a taste of what we did together. Watch the full showcase and you can see it all in action.

As usual all the typical asset requests were built for this project.

Here are just a few of the quick full-screen transitional elements used in the showcase.
